A visit to Okie Dokie is the ULTIMATE treat. The rough Philly parking scene could never, ever keep me away. I went savory with my order this time, going for the fried chicken donut sandwich. But I also couldn't resist getting a raised chocolate donut as well. The employee at the window was a certain type of chill & helpful that really put me at ease. I wish I could provide more detail on the intricacies of flavors in the fried chicken donut sandwich, but I snarfed it in literally 30 seconds. What a bad food critic I am today! All I can say is: DELICIOUS! Can't wait to be driving by Philly for whatever reason again so I can make my routine Okie Dokie stop.
Amazing donuts and savory treats!! You would never know they are gluten free. Heaven for the celiacs who want a treat - not the usual gluten free food that is healthy and vegan. The apple cider donut is competitive with the cinnamon donut from federal donut which is truly impressive for a GF donut. Boston cream and the corn dog were also standouts.
Okie Dokie is an exceptional business. While spending a significant amount of time in both Philadelphia and New York (and their metro areas) Okie Dokie is a unique place. From their sweet donuts to their savory selections like sandwiches, fried chicken and risotto/corn dog donuts- all are fantastic! I have been visiting Okie Dokie for 2 years, and with each passing month their flavors and quality have always left me wondering how something gluten free can taste so good. My personal favorites are the chipotle chicken sandwich, the rizz (pair of risotto donuts), lemon glazed donut, pumpkin cardi donut (9/22/24 Sunday special), apples & cream donut (10/13/24 Sunday special) and the go iggles donut (special for the kickoff to the 2024 Eagles season). The service at Okie Dokie is always fast and friendly. During my last visit the worker at the window apologized that my order of 6 donuts and a chipotle chicken sandwich would take 5-6 minutes to prepare (which is definitely fast by the standards of food service). Just recently Okie Dokie rolled out their East Coast delivery program. Just about any household on the east coast can have Okie Dokie donuts delivered to their door. Though, I always prefer visiting Okie Dokie in person and enjoying the best that South Philly has to offer at their freshest. Okie Dokie donuts also prioritizes community outreach and supporting other small businesses. During LGBTQ pride month in June Okie Dokie donuts donated proceeds from their Pride donut to the Attic Youth Center. Likewise during trans day of visibility Okie Dokie also donated proceeds from their Trans Visibility donut to the Attic Youth Center. When it comes to supporting other small businesses in Philly, Okie Dokie highlights other quality small businesses on their social media and even has product partnerships with Herman's Coffee and Hale & True Cider Co. Okie Dokie prioritizes catering to holidays and special cultural events around. Holidays such as, Christmas Eve, Purim, Rosh Hashanah, Chinese New Year, Mother's Day and many more are all honored with their own specialized donuts. If you eat gluten free (or just love donuts & treats) Okie Dokie is a MUST visit!
If you're gluten free, this is a top choice if you're cravings donuts (or a few other things on their menu). Also serving coffee and drinks, and some fried chicken items. Donuts can be offered as vegan as well. Everything is made fresh when you order, so donuts are fried up warm and not sitting around. It's all window service so you just order there and then wait around until your order is called. Decent stream of people ordering or picking up in the morning. I ordered their seasonal special maple raspberry. Donut itself was a bit on the dry side and did not have enough jam filling spread inside to balance that out. It was still tasty. Next trip I would want to try one of their standard donuts as well. Thanks
Well this is a dope little donut shop. The way forward is the coffee + donut for $5.50, which is only available Mon-Fri. I got the coffee caramel crisp donut thingy. The name of the flavor escapes me but it is was something along those lines. It was terrific. The drip coffee to go alongside the donut was clutch. Also, shout-out to Okie Dokie for the many variety of flavors they dream up. Really impressive. Go checkout their website. I love Okie Dokie and all that they represent. I would argue that Okie Dokie is worth going out of your way to visit (it's only a block off the Broad Street Line). Takeaway only.
